Shree Gunatit Jyot a Spiritual Center for spiritual development and advancement of women was established on 1st June, 1965 at Vallabh Vidyanagar (India) which is endowed with religious and cultural heritage of Lord Swaminarayan as amplified and accomplished by later exponents of HIS philosophy.
The Gunatit Heritage
The Supreme being or ‘Parabrahma’ manifested Himself, popularly known among HIS devotees as Shreeji Maharaj also known as Lord Swaminarayan, and HE, in turn, introduced Swamishree Gunatitanandji as the manifestation of ‘Akshar’ in whom HE resides and through whom HE can be reached. This has been a glorious advance in Hindu religious thought. The tradition, since then has been continuous. HE, the Lord Swaminarayan promised to manifest on earth through Gunatit saints to fulfil an epoch-making task. The link has never been snapped nor has the glory suffered a setback. The contribution made by Brahma Swaroop Shree Shastriji Maharaj and Brahma Swaroop Shree Yogiji Maharaj from 1916 to 1971 – a stretch of 55 years is indeed a saga of spiritual achievement.
The Birth of Shree Gunatit Jyot
Setting the Scene
In 1952, Brahma Swaroop Shree Yogiji Maharaj revealed a vision ‘to propagate the holy teachings of the Lord (Vachanamrut 26 G.P.III) among women folk through a saintly woman who has attained the epitome of spiritual achievement (i.e. a woman who has reached the spiritual heights of becoming HIS spiritual abode).’ HE gave a call that through this Divine woman abode, women-folk will discard worldly relations, abandoning all cravings – physical and mental and thus attain a God-head in thought and deed.
Realization of God is essential for Spiritual development of the highest state. This was difficult for our women folk as they were too dependent on others in our society. The aspirant needed shelter where she can be free from all fear, where she will be well-provided for routine requirements, where she can devote her energies for union with God, a ‘Spiritual Home’ was necessary where the soul can flower in perfect peace. For the fulfilment of this aim, ‘Shree Gunatit Jyot’ was born.
This concept was originated, approved and blessed by Shree Yogiji Maharaj. He being a sage with strict vows to keep away from women, delegated and bestowed this inspired mission to HIS trusted devotee Param Pujya Babubhai Nathabhai Patel (HIS Holiness Guruhari Pappaji Maharaj), who had attained the epitome of spiritual achievement. By Shree Yogiji Maharaj’s command, his divine abode P.P.Babubhai took over the movement for spiritual emancipation of women.
Foundation of Shree Gunatit Jyot
Shree Yogiji Maharaj chose Vallabh Vidyanagar, Anand, for this spiritual home with a clear assurance that ‘HE will manifest here too, HE won’t vanish’.

Divine Blessings Shree Yogiji Maharaj laid the foundation on 21st June, 1965 with an astounding prophesy : ‘The messages of Gunatit Gyan will spread throughout the world from here.’
