Lord Swaminarayan has the desire to make one million Manvar ships full of souls free from Kal, Karma, Maya, and to make each and every soul there a guaranteed member of Akshardham. The only condition for such liberation is Sambandh Yog, that is, the contact with a Gunatit Sadhu either by deliberate surrender or by accidental contact.
To put this into context if we imagine the size of each and individual soul and the number of souls that can occupy one Manvar, then how many such souls will occupy one million Manvar of ships? This is why the only qualification to accommodate one million Manvar ships is the contact of a Gunatit saint of Lord Swaminarayan.
This is the reason for various temples and various institutions under the leadership of various Gunatit Saints in our Swaminarayan Sampraday. Having attained contact with Gunatit Saints of Lord Swaminarayan, the individual will start their journey to Akshardham. All the Gunatit saints have only one mission and that is to be helpful in the success of Lord Swaminarayan’s original desire.
Lord Swaminarayan has promised to forever remain manifest through Gunatit Saints. Gunatitanand Swami is Mul Gunatit Brahma. Bhagatji Maharaj, Jaga Swami, and Krishnaji Ada are the first three followers of Gunatitanand Swami. They became Gunatit themselves as they understood the significance of worship of Brahma and Parbrahma, Swami and Narayan as dual worship of the Almighty God. This is the tradition of Hinduism, to worship Sita with Rama, Parvati with Shiva, Radha with Krishna in the same way as Brahm with Parbrahm in the form of the Gunatitanand Swami and Bhagwan Swaminarayan.
This original truth was realised and understood by Swami Yadnapurushdas, also known as Shastriji Maharaj and brought this truth to the followers of Lord Swaminarayan. Shastriji Maharaj formally introduced the Akshar Purushottam Upasana, that is, worshiping Lord Swaminarayan along with Gunatitanand Swami. Brahma Swaroop Yogiji Maharaj, Pragat Brahma Swaroop Pramukh Swami Maharaj, Kakaji, Pappaji, Hariprasad Swamiji, Aksharviharidas Swamiji, Jasbhai Saheb and all the Swaminarayan saints and their followers, all follow the Akshar Purushottam philosophy.
Swami Gnanjivandasji, better known as Yogiji Maharaj was very pleased by the seva of Kakaji, also known as Dadubhai who helped Guljarirlal Nanda in an election in 1952 as per the desire of Yogiji Maharaj. On 2nd February 1952 Yogiji Maharaj put Kakaji Maharaj in a samadhi at the Gondal Temple in front of the murti of Ghanshyam Maharaj. There Dudukaka saw Yogiji Maharaj as Lord Swaminarayan himself residing in Akshardham. Dadukaka himself became a Gunatit Saint and proved the blessing of Lord Swaminarayan that His Presence on this earth we will be kept forever through Gunatit Saints.
To further understand the significance of the Akshar Purushottam movement in the context Gunatit Jyot, in Hinduism there are been women aspirants who were saintly such as Arundhati and Ansuya but there were no formal organisations where they could dedicate themselves to attained the highest spiritual level. Yogiji Maharaj being the manifest form of Lord Swaminarayan, wanted to give freedom to ladies to follow the path of dedication and devotion, to worship Bhagwan Swaminarayan and attain the stage of Gunatit Saint by following ekantik sadhana.
For such a challenging mission and revolution Yogiji Maharaj selected Babubhai, who is the elder brother of Dadukaka. Babubhai was a married man, whilst He was working as a teacher in Africa, He had helped His brother to get a Degree in Law in London. When Babubhai got the news that Dadubhai had totally devoted himself to Yogiji Maharaj, Babubhai came back to India.
Babubhai himself realised Yogiji Maharaj as Purushottam Narayana in a meeting at Dadar Temple in Bombay and then He himself became a staunch follower of Yogiji Maharaj. Yogiji Maharaj bestowed His blessings and grace upon Babubhai and gave him the power to start a separate institution for women where ladies could also follow ekantik sadhna and attain stage of Gunatit Saint.
This is a brief insight of the mission of Lord Swaminarayan and His Gunatit Saints. Everything is going on as per His chart and planning, and each and every swaroop is contributing His services for the original mission of Lord Swaminarayan.
