1st September 2021 marks Pratyaksh Guruhari Pappaji Maharaj’s 105th Birthday. If God ever walked on this earth, then He did so through the footsteps of Param Pujya Pappaji.
At the age of nine years, Pappaji had promised to bring heaven on earth; he fulfilled His promise. He gave us the darshan of the supreme God Himself, gave us His divine bliss and transformed our lives such that we began to live in God. Pappaji shone with divinity, He breathed divinity and made others divine.
Guruhari Pappaji lived for his guru and was constantly submerged in Him. He had once said that He was willing to give His blood, drop by drop if necessary for the service of the Divine Yogiji Maharaj. Breath by breath Pappaji certainly gave His body for that service. He fulfilled His master’s instructions to give spiritual mentoring to women who wanted to become sadhus, and to grahasto, yuvako and santo alike as part of the Gunatit Samaj.
It is not possible to truly know the glory of a Gunatit Saint. Despite singing his praises and extolling his virtues, this only scratches the surface of His greatness. God says that such a saint is My very soul; the saint is Me and I am My beloved saint (poem by Nishkulanand Swami). He has such respect for such a saint that He would place the dust from the saint’s feet on His own head (Vach. G I 37). God is bound by His supreme devotee; once when Krishna Bhagwan had left Vrindavan to go to Mathura, the gopis had gathered to stop him, He observed that, “The whole world is attracted to Me, but I am drawn only to My Radha”. The glory of Pappaji is such that Shreeji Maharaj and Yogi Bapa cannot live even a moment away from him.
With His supreme love, patience and quiet disposition Pappaji captured our hearts, and then to take us to the highest spiritual level he invoked ill health. With our bhajan he removed our faults and has made us suitable to take our place in Akshardham. He has left us an immense legacy of the Gunatit Samaj and great swaroopo such as Param Pujya Ben, Param Pujya Didi, Param Pujya Jyotiben, Param Pujya Deviben and Param Pujya Jasuben.
It is our duty to continue to support Guruhari Pappaji’s and Shreeji Maharaj’s mission, so in His loving memory, let us all resolve to do the same. Pappaji is in our hearts and if, as per His own very words, we keep our telephone line clear then He will inspire us from within as to what we must do. In addition if we serve and do as per the guidance and instructions of His swaroopo, then we will truly see Pappaji Maharaj as always being manifest.
Sahajanand Swami Maharaj ni Jai.
