A real loss to our satsang – Pujya Diwaliben Popat
1929-2016
Pujya Diwaliben Popat, fondly known as Bhabhi by all who knew her, sadly passed away on Thursday morning 22nd September 2016 at Ealing Hospital. From a very young age she was a true devotee of Pujya Yogijimaharaj in Africa and had accepted Param Pujya Ben as her guru. Indeed, her marriage was arranged by Param Pujya Ben, at the tender age of eighteen. She became widowed in 1972 soon after they arrived from Africa to the UK; however, in all the difficulties of her life, she continued to believe and support Param Pujya Ben and was one of the pillars of the Gunatit Samaj in the UK.
Bhabhi was a loving and generous person and lived to serve her family and haribhaktos alike. She was always smiling and gave nothing but love and expected nothing in return. She was one of the first to support Pujya Ben on her maiden visit to the UK and she instilled these values of mahatmya and seva in her family who have continued this legacy. She continued her support for both Gunatit Jyot and Anoopam Mission equally. It is a sad day for the Gunatit samaj to have lost such a divine mother.
In the past year and half her health deteriorated such that she became frail and unwell. She suffered a major stroke in December 2015 which left her partially paralysed. These past few months have been difficult for her and her family. May Guruhari Pappaji, Pujya Ben and Pujya Saheb bless her soul and give us all, and especially her family, the strength to cope with this tremendous loss.
A Prathna sabha will be held on Sunday 25th September at Anoopam Mission Mandir from 4.30-6.30pm.
The funeral will be held on Thursday 29th September 2016 at Breakspear Crematorium East Chapel at 12.30pm. Breakspear Road, Ruislip, Middlesex, HA4 7SJ
