Preface

Swami Shreeji

The Gunatit Samaj constitutes a fellowship of divine mukto who have embarked upon a sadhana to realise and attain ‘super-human’ qualities (maha-manav).

The Guruhari plays a most important role in the lives of those sadhaks endeavouring to realise this super-human state (maha-manav).  His word is gospel, the Guruhari‘s agna (command) is obeyed sincerely and absolutely without any reservations; everything else is insignificant.

Those sadhaks who tread this path can be classified broadly in terms of the following four groups :-

  • Tyagi Santo – Ascetic Saints, i.e. sadhus who have devoted their lives to the service of God.
  • Vrat-dhari Brothers – Male aspirants who have devoted their  lives to the service of God.
  • Vrat-dhari Sisters  – Female aspirants who have devoted their lives to the service of God.
  • Agna-dhari Grahasth – Married couples who have devoted their lives to the service of God.

Those sadhaks endeavouring to attain the ultimate goal of realising the supreme state of maha-manav (super-human) ; do so whilst living in the midst of humans who lead totally normal lives.  The sadhak and the lay person appear to lead very similar lives in every sense, except that their goals differ vastly.  Whilst the sadhakis not placed under any strict restrictions, he should not violate the rules governing his code of conduct without reasonable justification for his behaviour.  He should discipline himself to understand and adopt the fundamental principles of the Guruhari and should try to apply these principles in his daily life in order to please the Guruhari.

Guruhari holds no expectations from his devotees.  However, once the sadhak attains a spiritual state whereby he becomes worthy of serving the Lord through devotion, worship and service, the Guruhari certainly expects the sadhak‘s behaviour to project purity and divinity; the sadhak‘s behaviour should be honourable, virtuous and divine at all times and perceived by others as such.

Thus this small booklet which has been compiled by P.P.Kakashree, P.P.Pappaji, P.P. Hariprasad Swamiji,  P.P. Aksharvihari Swamiji, P.P. Ba, P.P. Ben, P.P. Saheb and P.P. Bhai gives guidance on how to lead a life in accordance with the Gunatit laws, clarifying any misconceptions or confusions and serving to warn us against potential temptations of the mind.

We deeply hope that sadhaks wishing to attain the optimum status of a super-human (maha-manav) will accept this booklet wholeheartedly and that it will be an invaluable aid to them in their sadhana.
