Drashta wala maté bhajan
The devotees who surrender whole-heartedly to the Gunatit Swaroop, without any reservations whatsoever, and are accepted by the Gunatit Swaroop whereby the Swaroop feels the devotees truly belong to Him, are known as drashta wala mukto.
These drashta-wala mukto believe that the Gunatit Swaroop holds a most important place in their hearts. The devotee considers the swaroop to be his atma (soul). Without the Swaroop, the devotee could not exist. Thus wherever the devotee may be, he will always hold a strong consciousness that he belongs to the Swaroop, and will live every moment in order to please the Swaroop.
How should such devotees worship the Lord? If this is understood clearly then they will experience nothing but joy and will not suffer any distress or misery in their sadhana.
- The lives of all devotees who are associated with Yogiji Maharaj i.e. santo, vrat-dhari Sisters, vrat-dhari brothers and married couples, are controlled by brahm (God).
- Once the Gunatit Swaroop accepts the devotee as His own, He takes complete responsibility for moulding his spiritual character and purifying his ego. In order to achieve this, the Gunatit Swaroop instigates various circumstances and events, which may cause severe distress to the devotee.
The Gunatit Swaroop takes full responsibility for everything concerning the devotee. The devotee should simply observe events, circumstances concerning himself or others as a witness, because he will have no idea of what to do. The Gunatit Swaroop is spiritually more powerful and it is He who has inspired such events. When He initiates dire circumstances in order to purify the negative traits (déhabhav), the devotee should endeavour to remain happy. Whatever the devotee does to maintain serenity and avoid becoming distraught, is worship.
The devotee should also bear in mind the following point.
Our intellect is such that it causes us to take offence of God and His devotees. It will not allow us to accept that God is the almighty one who inspires everyone and instigates all circumstances. Thus, when we get the slightest hint that our intellect is about to deceive us, we should instantly tell our mind:
“STOP….. you are not permitted to make such judgements!!”
If we continue to do this successfully, eventually we will no longer be influenced by our mind and intellect. Gradually, the impurities of the mind and intellect will be dissolved and we will be able to accept the Lord as the almighty one who controls and inspires all the devotees. Thus, we will accept that the Lord cannot be the enemy of his humble devotees – “daas na dushman hari kédi hoi nahi”.
Each one of us according to our fundamental characteristics (ang), should do whatever is necessary to remain happy during our sadhana.
