What Pappaji Maharaj means to me.
Words cannot even begin to scratch the surface of what I would like to say about Guruhari Pappaji Maharaj. I will however make a humble attempt to express it as best as I can.
Pappaji Maharaj has been an anchor in our lives and has made it possible to live a meaningful life. He has always done what is best for me (whether or not at the time I could see it) and this experience has led to an increased faith. Whatever He has assured me that something will happen, it has indeed happened.
Each adversity has increased my faith further and this appears to be to reason I went through them, although only He will know the reasons. His guidance is so wonderful that he advised not to wrack your brain about the reason events happen but just be happy and carefree that you have found God and His swaroopo who will guide you through.
Believe Him to be the one who controls your fate and destiny and who is the controller of fellow devotees and the events and circumstance in your life. Whatever the Lord does is for the best and He is not an enemy of His devotees. What the world calls “problems” will come and go – that is life but Guruhari Pappaji has given us amazing tools to enable us to handle these “problems” in such a way that that their effects upon us are mitigated. However, more importantly He is moulding our character into a better more positive and patient one. Where we falter and cannot see a way out He has given us the gift of His swaroops in whom we can confide and come away with clear guidance and a huge burden off our shoulders.
Despite knowing that I cannot influence and control everything I have been a worrier but have learnt/am learning to accept and let go due to Pappaji Maharaj’s perfect guidance, love and support. Currently His love shines through His swaroopo and He has written to me that, “You belong to God and none else and He in the form of Jasuben is always caring for you and guiding you and protecting you whenever you remember Him so whatever you do remember Him first and rest assured that he will do all what is necessary for you in the best possible way. Always be joyous and peaceful as you belong to Him”.
Here He is advising me that all I need to do is remember Him and He will do the rest (what a great deal!). I have done nothing to have been granted such a wonderful gift – I am one of the luckiest people in the world. As such I pray that I constantly remain aware that I belong to Him and accordingly remain joyous and peaceful as per His guidance. Guruhari Pappaji’s patience has no boundaries and He never tired of selflessly repeating the same teachings over and over and is still doing so through His swaroops. Pappaji Maharaj and His spiritual establishment, Gunatit Jyot, has taught me and is continuing to teach me more each day a life-long education for me and many others a constant stream of food for thought and for the soul.
Although Guruhari Pappaji was so great and beyond this world even when He was living in it He was extremely humble and approachable taking an interest in things that went on in my life. He knew exactly what would give each devotee murti and smurti. He never asked anything of us in terms of following a set of niyamo, all He asked was that we maintain unity harmony and spiritual friendship. He was pleased if we enjoyed life and had fun but stressed that we should always do everything in life with Him in our hearts, minds and souls. One of His swaroopo had once said that there is nothing wrong with going to watch a movie, it is something we can enjoy. However, in difficult times remembering how we enjoyed that movie will not alleviate the pain but remembering P.P.Pappaji Marahraj and His teachings will do so. A huge thank you to P.P.Pappaji Marahraj for gracing us with His presence on earth and giving us so much smurti from which we can draw on and also so many swaroopo who guide us in the above manner.
Pappaji Maharaj’s swaroopo are His mahima and we are so lucky to have them. I for one feel extremely blessed to have a wonderful guru in who I can confide feel totally at ease with and able to talk to as a friend but at the same time who is obviously much more than that. Someone who with Her sankalpas and prayers has done so much for me from fulfilling worldly wishes to ensuring that progress is made in my sadhna. She has kindly pointed out where and when I have faltered and prayed that nothing but Guruhari Pappaji should remain within me.
These swaroopo are totally selfless like Guruhari Pappaji Maharaj – if we had the world but not our beloved Guruhari and gurus the world would be worthless. With them even if we have nothing in this world we have everything we could hope for whether we can see it or not.
I pray that in His centenary year, I can make Him happy with doing as much seva as possible whilst maintaining unity, harmony and spiritual friendship and not remaining in any form of munjavan, vikshep or abhav in any shape or form Above I pray that everyone believe Him to be the all inspiring force in all sabhandwala, circumstances and events. He once said that we have found Him and should maintain prapti no kef because we belong to Him. As we have Him in case of any adverse circumstances He advises that we should not worry but pray to Him and maintain positive thoughts only (shubh sankalpa). Please give me the strength courage and devotion to persevere with such a meaningful spiritual life.
