Chapter Nine: Characteristics of the Spiritual Status Brahmi Sthiti nu Lakshan

Swami-ni-Vato Chapter 1. Discourse 305

To practice positive thinking and thus experience peace and bliss is to have attained the happiness of heaven on earth. Similarly, to be plagued with negative thoughts and feelings of despondency, gloom and depression is effectively to experience hell on earth.

Swami-ni-Vato Chapter 1. Discourse 308 Once a devotee comes in contact with the Satpurush he automatically gains a right to experience the peace, bliss and happiness of Akshardham. Just as a prince never forfeits his rights to the kingdom and the throne, no matter what he does, so devotees will never forfeit their place in Akshardham

The difference between a lay person and an ékantik is similar to the differences between a Hindu and a Muslim. A lay person always desires worldly and materialistic pleasures, whereas an ékantik yearns to please the Lord. There is a tale of nine youths, one of whom constantly spoke of nothing but the glories of God. The other eight who did not have the same appreciation picked him up and threw him in a nearby river. Such is human nature !!

To constantly keep one’s mind sub-merged in the Lord is the ultimate goal. However, this is not easily accomplished by many. Therefore, one should endeavour to participate in the worship of the Lord by praying, meditating and singing hymns. Without the constant guidance of an accomplished guru, a Gunatit Swaroop – this would be impossible.

Do you hold any grudges against any others devotees? Do you bear any animosity or hatred toward them? Are you after revenge for any reason? To you wish them any harm in any way? Do you pray for their destruction ?

If the answers to the above questions are negative, then you have achieved the status mentioned in Vachnamrut Kariyani 9.

Do you serve the devotees as though you are serving the Lord or the Gunatit Swaroop? i.e. with the same devotion and applying your whole self, your mind, body and soul for their service? If the answer is affirmative, then your soul has attained spiritual progress.

If ever you evade serving the devotees and consequently feel guilty for doing so, then you are definitely on the path of spiritual progress, simply continue to serve them.
