Chapter Eleven: Qualities of Seeking Refuge in a God -Realised Saint

Drudh Ashra na lakshan

  1. Continuously perform the service of the Lord as inspired by Him.  Even if you should attain a spiritual status equivalent to that of a god-realised saint, do not withdraw from the service.  Sustain the desire to continue in the service of the lord until you take your final breath.  Yogi Bapa was a prime example of one who practised this principle.
  2. Never insist upon others to act or behave according to your own principles or convictions.  If they harmoniously agree, then so be it – but do not resort to any form of animosity or sarcasm.
  3. Do not be the judge of any devotees, be they young or old, perfect or imperfect in their ways.  Do not form any kind of opinions regarding these sambandh-wala. It is not your duty.

For those devotees who have been put under your guidance by the Lord, it is imperative that you nurture them and instil the righteous values in them by practising them yourself.  The values which you hold in high regard, i.e. being tolerant and humble, will only be accepted by them if they witness these in your own behaviour.  If this is practised sincerely, you will be purified – you will become ego-less (A param bhagwat sant).   As per Vachnmarut G.I. 27.  you will easily see theleela of  Maharaj and will be able to witness Maharaj purifying others.
