Chapter Eighteen: True Worship Upasana

  1. Constantly ask oneself : will these thoughts please Bapa ? will my actions please him? Until one gets a firm answer continue to pray but do not act. Nothing will be ruined. Do only that which is your religion (swa-dharma) otherwise continue to pray. Remain sub-merged in the Lord and do whatever is inspired by Him.
  2. Do not allow others to interfere with your beliefs, principles, or morals. By the same token do not interfere in theirs. Do not insist on others to adopt your views/beliefs. If anything, simply advise them to pray to Bapa and do as inspired by Him.
  3. Ignore all other beliefs and faiths and concentrate on your own religion. To endeavour to continually practice these points is the purpose of these seminars.

Bapa, who has the divine vision and can see everything happening i.e. he sees our vices and virtues; witnesses our ups and downs; remains tranquil and without feelings of desolation, sorrow or anxiety. Yet we, who have absolutely no divine vision, why do we judge other’s behaviour, take offence and as result tend to experience distress and emotional disturbances ?

Everything is ordained and inspired by Him. No one is capable of doing anything without His express permission. Thus when you dislike someone’s behaviour, begin to pray and repent. You will then be able to accept that their behaviour has been inspired by the Lord. The fact that we are unable to accept the Lord as the almighty one who inspires each event and each person is indeed a lack of mahatmya. Once we attain this mahatmya, we will gain divine vision known as leela. Finally, we will have a better understanding of what we should be doing.

A true devotee is one who accepts that the Lord is a divine, innocent being. At each and every moment, whatever he does is for the benefit and well-being of certain souls. No matter what the devotee’s own characteristics, the fact that he accepts the Lord to be divine and innocent will mean that he will be purified.

One who believes the Lord to be a mere mortal, is a sinner. He may be full of virtues, he may be an ideal worshipper i.e. performs puja – prayers etc. – but the fact that he does not recognise the Lord as nirdosh means that he will always be a sinner. In reality he is ‘worshipping his own ego’.

Prayers said with deep devotion and faith will always be answered.

We have come in contact with the supreme Lord himself, therefore he will not always grant our wishes straight away. He will obliterate our innermost vices. They will be destroyed from the roots. During this time, we should not complain, but should endure the process and continue to pray. In the end, our wishes will definitely be granted.

Those who grant wishes immediately without obliterating our vices are Gods of this world. (Demi-Gods).

Once our vices have been obliterated, all our wishes will automatically be granted, that is the reason the supreme Lord has descended upon the earth.

Do you believe that whatever the Lord, the swaroopos and the devotees do is inspired by God ?

If you do, then you have attained the spiritual status of Swami-Swaroop.

If you vacillate between accepting this fact and denying it, thus taking manushyabhav in the devotees, then do you feel regret or accept it as your own fault ?

If you do, then continue to serve the Lord and his devotees as per Vachnamrut G. III. 2.

“Jya juvé tya ramji – biju na bashé ré “

Wherever you look, you will see nothing but God. Thus you will be able to participate only where you see the association of God, and be able to neglect / avoid anything else.
