Chapter Seven: A Warning to the Sadhaks

Sadhako maté lal bati

You are a sadhak.  The Lord by his grace has recognised your soul and its former relationship with God and has therefore placed you in the company of a divine guru – a god-realised saint.  This is a truth which  the sadhak must always bear in mind.

Day by day, the divine feelings (divyabhav) and emotions with which the sadhak accepted the Guru in the first instance, should increase as the sadhak progresses in his sadhna.  He should ensure that he reads such literature and keeps the company of those who will assist in this quest.  Those who are Gurus should also take care that their disciples follow this principle.

Gurus should be prudent enough to recognise the times when the sadhak’s mayik intellect and emotions lead  him to take manushyabhav in the swaroop within whom he has taken refuge.  They should use whatever means necessary – i.e. love, sympathy, understanding, knowledge, preaching, meditation,  japyagna or séva to eliminate these mayik feelings and nip them in the bud before they become strong and rooted.  This is the greatest service towards God that the guru can perform and it is also the greatest grace he can bestow upon his disciple.

The guru should remain vigilant that all contributory factors which invoke the feelings of manushyabhav (internal and external factors such as literature, friends etc.) should be kept at bay right from the start.  It is very important to observe this for the simple reason that should such forces succeed in planting even the smallest seed of manushyabhav within the sadhak’s mind and intellect, it will take root, and will  eventually flower.  As the sadhak progresses in the satsang, these negative emotions and feelings of manushyabhav will become deep rooted and although initially planted only as small seeds, will become as strong as trees.  As the satsang intensifies, so will the feelings of manushyabhav.  Then it will be very difficult to eradicate such thoughts.

By the grace of the God, the sadhak will become aware of their negative influences and effects on his life and he will turn in anger to the same mind and intellect which lead him to this predicament.  The sadhak will realise that his own mayikmind and intellect were the cause of his downfall – they caused him to lose all that he had strived to achieve.  Through thesadhna and satsang the sadhak’s mind and intellect become purified, he accepts his faults and with this purified part he threatens the corrupt mayik mind and intellect never to take manushyabhav again.  Maharaj continues to instigate events and circumstances which lead the mayik intellect to eventually become so divine and purified that it becomes incapable of taking manushyabhav.

Thus it is crucial that all gurus and disciples, from the outset read the Vachnamrut Sarangpur 4, and should observe and apply the principles mentioned therein.  This will be beneficial in creating an awareness and alertness for the padmamargi sadhakos whose sadhanas will become smoother and easier.

Take each event positively and always think positively.  Ignore all negative thoughts and ensure that they are eliminated immediately.  Laugh out every thing and remain immersed in Maharaj.  You will witness miracles occurring. Vachnamrut G. III. 2.
